Monterey and Pebble Beach

We got off to a pretty early start, heading to Monterey. Our first stop was actually at Moss Landing, a small fishing village and the home of Phil’s Fish Market. This place was once home to a  Bobby Flay’s Throwdown episode…

We had the bread bowl of clam chowder and it was yummy and very filling.

We then started our trek south on Hwy 1…

And a first sign of the great Pacific Ocean…

We arrived in Monterey needing fuel and worried at what the prices would be. We had seen it for $4.76 a bit earlier and passed it up. Downtown Monterey we got it for $4.33. Go figure!

Great ocean views. Those seals are cute to watch, but as I recall they really smell bad :(

My favorite place in the who world. We used to spend a lot of time there when Fort Ord was open, great camping, wonderful golf, and the best part at prices we could afford! Hugs

That is really a beautiful area, one of many in California.
