A Secret Visit to Cape Cod

Last Wednesday we flew out of South  Bend, In for a very special trip to Cape Cod.. Kevin’s family was having a family reunion at his sister MaryLou’s home.  His siblings would all  be there, along with cousins from Ohio, Alabama and NH..  His sister Lou decided it would be fun to make it a surprise, and that it was…

It has been 6 years since they have been together. Much longer for the cousins.   Alot of story’s were told, pictures came out and much much laughter took place,  along with some tears of course...  

And what’s a party without food….oh my so much food. ( it was catered by the next door neighbor and friend, who is also a cook at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis)…

The following day was a lazy one for us. We just relaxed on MaryLou and Carl’s beautiful deck all day…With a dinner out of fried clams of course!

Sunday we set out for a bit of shopping..

Had to get some of these guys… this is a big momma and baby..

Our feast, of steamers and lobster.. Us New Englanders would say lobstah!!  MMMMMMMM…..

Before  we left the cape we had to revisit the area we spent so many summers with our kids…. Kevin’s aunt owned this cottage…

It will be hard leaving this area. We just love the quaint small towns of the Cape, with the clapboard houses, hydrangeas, rose bushes, ocean, seafood  and that familiar smell in the air.…
